Looking for a sound bath near Joshua Tree?

The Gong Room is an intimate sound bath studio located off Highway 62 in Yucca Valley, California, minutes from Joshua Tree National Park. We offer exclusive gong sound baths that are designed to promote deep relaxation, mental clarity, and personal transformation.

Our studio is designed for a fully immersive experience. Two walls lined with gongs, crystal singing bowls, and other instruments surround you, creating a rich sound environment. At our signature event, GongFusion™ Soundbath, you’ll hear live music from 12 gongs, crystal bowls, and more, blended with a custom ambient drone for a sound bath that helps you relax and look inward.

If you’re visiting the Joshua Tree area for a vacation, wellness retreat, or desert getaway, an experience at The Gong Room is worth building into your trip. We’re easy to find and conveniently accessible from the highway.

Advanced booking is required. Public events, private sessions, and mobile sound baths are available.

Why Choose The Gong Room?

Most sound baths lean heavily on crystal bowls. We’re gong-focused. At each event, you’ll hear up to 12 gongs, crystal singing bowls, and other live instruments, surrounding you with layered, resonant sound. It’s a fuller, more powerful experience than most people expect the first time.

That depth comes from experience. Since 2004, we’ve led over 4,000 public sound baths and developed a style that’s both grounded and effective. Sessions are designed to help you relax deeply and quickly, without a long warm-up or a lot of guidance. The sound does the work.

The studio itself makes a difference, too. Indoor acoustics let the gongs open up fully, and the room is set up so the sound wraps around you from multiple directions. It’s intimate, comfortable, and built specifically for this.

One more thing: we don’t bring dogma into it. No chakra talk, no yoga philosophy, no claims that specific frequencies heal specific things. You don’t need any particular beliefs to benefit. Just lie back, stay open, and let the sound do what it does.

Private Events

If you want the full Gong Room experience without sharing the space with strangers, a private session is the way to go. We book private sound baths for one person up to a group of ten, whether that’s a solo session, a couple’s experience, or a gathering of friends or family.

Private sessions are scheduled around your plans, which makes them easy to fit into a desert trip or retreat itinerary. The experience itself is the same high-quality sound bath, but the space is entirely yours. No adjusting to a stranger’s energy or noise. Most people find it significantly easier to relax and go deep when they’re only sharing the room with people they already know.

We also shape the session with your group in mind. If you have specific intentions or goals for the experience, we take those into account.

Public Events

We hold two or three public sound baths each week at The Gong Room, including special sessions around the full and new moons. These are small group gatherings, limited to 10 participants, which keeps the experience intimate and the sound quality exactly where it needs to be.

The price is accessible, but nothing is scaled back. You’re hearing the same 12 gongs, the same crystal singing bowls, and the same level of care that goes into every private session we offer.

Public events tend to draw a mix of locals and visitors passing through the Joshua Tree area. It’s a relaxed, low-key way to have a genuinely memorable experience in the desert, and a natural place to connect with others who are drawn to this kind of thing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any experience? No. Our events are open to everyone, including first-time sound bathers.

What should I bring? We provide everything: mat, bolster, pillow, blanket, and eye mask. The one thing you need to bring, or wear, is a pair of socks. Socks are required on the white carpet.

How long is a session? Most public sound baths run one hour. Private sessions are 60 to 75 minutes. Each event includes a brief introduction and a closing, and you’re welcome to ask questions at the end.

It’s my first sound bath. What should I know? You’re in good hands. Sound baths vary a lot depending on the practitioner, the style, and the instruments used. Gong Fusion™ is designed to be immersive and transformative, but your only job is to lie back and stay relaxed, open, and curious.

Is it going to be loud? The intensity fluctuates throughout the session, but we monitor volume at every event and always keep it within a safe range.

Are your sound baths similar to the Integratron? They’re different experiences. The Integratron uses crystal singing bowls exclusively. We combine multiple large gongs with crystal singing bowls. Bowls tend to create focus and lightness. Gongs add depth, intensity, and full-body resonance. If you’re visiting the Joshua Tree area, we’d suggest experiencing both.

Do you offer anything online? Yes. We offer the Group Soundbath Player™ Certification Course for those who want to learn, and a shop where you can download sound bath and breathwork recordings.

What happens if someone is snoring? We’ll gently wake them by touching the tops of their feet or ankles.
